Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media to their side’s performance against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
The North Londoners return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with it all to do next week having suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of their bitter rivals.
Both of Chelsea’s goals in the opening half came courtesy of diabolical defending by Antonio Conte’s side with Japhet Tanganga’s decision making the primary cause on both occasions.
Tottenham’s first chance of the game came three minutes after halftime when substitute Tanguy Ndombele was felled on the edge of the Chelsea area and Harry Kane saw his free-kick parried away by Kepa Arrizabalaga.
They rarely threatened after that opportunity and had to wait until three minutes before full time. Bryan Gil’s mazy run down the left resulted in Giovani Lo Celso going close and Tanguy Ndombele was unable to reach the rebound for a tap-in.
Here is a selection of reaction from some of the North London football on what they witnessed at Stamford Bridge.
Hojbjerg can leave this club tomorrow and I'd instantly forget he ever played for us. Absolute joke of a footballer.

That was awful
Reminiscent of times under Nuno , conceding an early goal and just not a care in the world
Players strolling around like they don't care
Shite

Men against Boys, Chelsea a far superior team just like Conte said they were, like it or not we are years behind them. Played off the park and lucky it was only 2-0.

Not a chance in hell are we coming back from that next week. Conte has worked miracles so far but it’s clear just how pathetic some of our players are.

Schooled by the European Champions away from home…
It hurts for sure….
It shows how much work there is to do…
It’s only half time!
Believe…

Anyone gonna say how awful Son was today.
When was the last time he's performed against a top team and I don't just mean scoring a goal against City and being quiet the rest of the game.

Gil Ndombele Lo celso Winks all have to play, they all deserve game time. Drop one of Son or Kane if you have to. Drop Hojbjerg from the team completely. Gil did more in 5 minutes than Son all game. Ndombele shows we need an attacking midfielder for this team to click

Better performance second half.. steady the ship at least.. could have been worse. Conte really needs players. The cieling has been hit with majority of that squad

Can we have the squad doing Spider-Man photos please?
Videos of Kane scoring free kicks in training?
Announce a new sponsor for the pavement outside the ground even?— Mark Thomas

Spurs Web Opinion:
Yet again, Spurs make a few changes to the team and everything turns to disaster. The squad, in general, is not strong enough and changes have to be made over the next two windows. If Conte can’t do it, no one can.
