Wolves have turned down a £15 million bid from Tottenham to sign Adama Traore, according to The Telegraph.
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has made Traore, 25, a target of priority for his side who have yet to be active in the market this month (Daily Mail).
Conte is allegedly planning to deploy the Spaniard in a wing-back role with him continuing to re-shape the squad at his disposal (The Times).
The Telegraph now report that Spurs have made an official bid for Traore worth £15 million but have seen the offer rebuffed by Wolves, who are set on their ‘strict’ £20 million asking price.
Spurs attempted to lure Traore to North London last summer when former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge, but again saw bids rejected by the West Midland outfit (Football.London).
Traore sees his contract at Molineux come to an end in the summer of 2023, with Sky Sports previously reporting there has not been a breakthrough in talks for fresh terms between club and player.
Spurs Web Opinion
Obviously, this bid from Spurs was one to test the waters to see if there is room for negotiation, but Wolves are pretty set on their valuation.
It is only a £5 million difference and the club knows there won’t be much wiggle room, so they really should stump up the rest to get this done.
