Tanguy Ndombele has completed his loan move to former club Lyon, the French club have confirmed in a statement this afternoon.
Ndombele makes the move back to his homeland with Lyon paying a €1.42million (£1.18million) loan fee with the option to make the deal permanent.
The 25-year-old cost Tottenham a club record £55million when he arrived in north London from Lyon in 2019 (The Sun) and has now returned to the Groupama Stadium.
Ndombele had been tipped with a reunion with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain but a move failed to materialise with the Ligue 1 leaders having struggled to offload any of their current squad to make room for the French international (RMC Sport).
The French international fell out of favour under Antonio Conte and was left out of Spurs’ match day squad for their three most recent fixtures.
His last appearance came in a Spurs shirt earlier this month when he was brought off on the hour mark against Morecambe in the FA Cup with the player booed off the pitch by sections of the home crowd having shown no urgency to get off the pitch (Sky Sports).

Ndombele had plenty of chances under numerous managers during his time at the club but never lived up to the promise that he possesses. There is no question that the midfielder is a talented footballer, but lacks the work ethic to go with it.
