MK Dons could pocket a significant amount of money from what Everton may pay Tottenham for the transfer of Dele Alli having included a sell-on clause in his contract during the switch that took him to north London.
Alli joined the Toffees on deadline day after spending seven years at Spurs, with the bulk of the deal’s valuation focus around performance-related add-ons.
Fabrizio Romano revealed the 25-year-old will move on an initial free transfer, before Everton have to part ways with £10 million once he reaches 20 appearances for the Toffees.
The Italian journalist also stated the add-ons could see the total fee reach up to £40 million depending on the performances of Everton and the midfielder.
However, either condition will net Alli’s former side MK Dons a chunk of what Spurs receive having included a 20 percent sell-on clause from his sale in 2015 (Football League World).
Once Alli fulfills the appearance quota, the Dons could be set to earn at least £2 million, leaving Spurs with the remaining £8 million.
Should the hefty performance bonuses be met, however, they would net around £6 million, taking their potential earnings from the sale up to £8 million in total.
PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal confirmed that the League One outfit are still entitled to the potential future pay out.
Despite Dele Alli’s initial free transfer, I understand MK Dons will still be entitled a percentage of the add-ons, which could go up to £40m, as part of their sell-on clause #THFC

MK Dons will be happy with whatever happens with this deal down the line. Both clubs will obviously want all the add-ons to be fulfilled, but that is something that is at least over six months away.
The move should be good for Alli as it is the chance for him to have a fresh start and get his career back on track.
