Tanguy Ndombele has been speaking about his January departure from Tottenham Hotspur having sealed a return to Lyon on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old’s agreement also includes the option for Lyon to make the deal permanent (Sky Sports) at the end of the campaign for €65m (£54m), with Lyon director Vincent Ponsot revealing that it was Ndombele who insisted the clause was part of the transfer (RMC Sport).
Ndombele could be set to make his first appearance for the Ligue 1 outfit tomorrow when his side travels to Monaco.
Spurs boss Antonio Conte was asked earlier today during the pre-Brighton press conference about the January transfer exits and labelled the decision to see four players in Ndmbele, Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gill and Dele Alli head out the door as ‘strange’ and pointed to past mistakes made in the transfer window as the reason (talkSPORT).

Ndombele sat down with French-based journalist Julien Maynard in an interview with Telefoot that is set to be released on Sunday morning.
In a snippet of the interview which was released earlier today, the French international admitted that he knew the significance of the importance to impress.
“I have to show certain things, like I said I didn’t play for Tottenham. I know that I am expected at the turn,” he told Telefoot.
“A successful loan would be that I do well, finish in the top three, and why not win the European Cup?”

Ndombele has it all to prove given his inability to impress a number of managers during his time at Tottenham, albeit the challenge of playing in France week in, week out cannot be compared to the demands of the Premier League.
