Antonio Conte has reportedly been told by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy that he will receive financial support to improve the team this summer, according to The Athletic.
Conte’s future at Spurs was plunged into doubt after their defeat to Burnley earlier this week in which he appeared to question whether he was the right man to turn the club’s fortunes around (The Guardian).
But the Italian later played down his reaction and explained he is currently happy in North London despite Tottenham’s volatile form of late (Football.London).
The Athletic now reports that Conte may be encouraged to remain in the dugout having been guaranteed funds to spend this summer from Spurs chief Levy.
The report states: ‘The Athletic understands that Conte has been told by Daniel Levy that he will be financially backed this summer.’
Conte has only had one transfer window at the helm of Tottenham, bringing in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.
However, all of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil left the club on loan deals with the trio struggling to stake a claim for a spot in the Spurs fold, while Dele Alli was sold in a permanent deal to Everton.

Spurs somewhat addressed some areas in January and also briefly shifted some players who evidently weren’t in Conte’s immediate plans.
The summer is where things really need to be looked at as it gives the club a lot more time to consider their options and the type of players that need to come in.
