Jack Clarke has taken to social media to thank Marcelo Bielsa after the Argentine parted ways with Leeds United following their 4-0 loss to Tottenham.
It was Bielsa who identified Clarke’s talent and handed the winger his first-team debut for Leeds during the 2018/19 campaign.
The youngster’s impressive showing in the Championship that season is what earned him a move to Spurs in the summer of 2019, with the North London club paying £10m for the winger’s services (Telegraph).
Clarke has not managed to have the impact he would have hoped for in his first couple of years in North London, with the youngster having made just four senior appearances for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).
Last month, the 21-year-old completed a loan move to Sunderland until the end of the season and he will be hoping to make a strong impact at the Stadium of Light to get his career back on track.
The Spurs man has now taken to social media to send a touching message to Bielsa after the news of his sacking.
This man gave me my opportunity in football and too play for a club @LUFC that has and always will be close too mine and my families hearts something that I will always be grateful for. Thank-you Marcelo for the opportunity and belief you had in me and many others

Spurs Web Opinion
One can argue that Belisa elevated the likes of Clarke (and several other Leeds stars) into better players than they are, which is arguably what convinced Spurs to overpay for the youngster two and a half years ago.
I am not convinced Leeds would be able to stay up as I believe their squad is distinctly average in several areas and I do not see them becoming tighter at the back and harder to beat under a different manager.
