Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of having Oliver Skipp back in action soon appear to have taken a blow, according to the Evening Standard.
The midfielder has not featured for Antonio Conte’s first team since the 2-0 Premier League defeat at Chelsea on 23 January due to a groin issue and the Italian had hoped that he would have had Skipp back in full training by the end of the week.
Skipp had trained outdoors on his own on Monday and Tuesday but is said to have felt discomfort in his pelvic area and will instead return indoors at Hotspur Way today to continue his rehabilitation.
Specialists have advised the 21-year-old to rest and is now expected to miss Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa.
Conte confirmed on Friday that confirmed that Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon would return to training this week, but is now set to be without the academy graduate for somewhat longer (Football.London).

This is a big blow to Tottenham’s hopes of finishing in the top four with the expectation of many fans that Skipp would slot in alongside Rodrigo Bentancur when fit at the expense of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, thankfully the Dane has been performing well in recent weeks while the prospect of Harry Winks coming in if one of the pair were to get injured is a concern.
