Jermaine Beckford has predicted that Dele Alli will not be an Everton player at the start of next season.
Alli’s career nosedived in his final couple of years at Spurs, with the midfielder struggling for starts in North London under three different managers in Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte.
The 25-year-old would have been hoping the move to Everton could get his career back on track but that has not been the case so far, with the England international having not started a single game for the Toffees since his move.
Reports indicate that coaches at Everton have been left surprised by the attacking midfielder’s lack of fitness and the Merseyside club could move the former Tottenham man on this summer, just six months after signing him (Daily Mirror).
The Toffees would only have to pay £10m to Spurs for the former MK Dons man after he makes 20 appearances for them (The Telegraph). So far, he has only made six and cannot reach that 20 mark before the summer transfer window (TransferMarkt).
Beckford insisted that Alli only has himself to blame for his decline and insisted that he sees no way back for the midfielder at Goodison Park.
When asked if he expects Alli to still be at Everton next season, Beckford told Stadium Astro: “No. No, I don’t.
“Dele Alli has had umpteen chances. He played under some incredible managers and once Poch left there were so many managers who gave him the opportunity.
“And the same thing happened again, his levels diminished and disappeared. For me, that’s nothing to do with the football club. All of the managers he’s had have been incredible. The same problem keeps on arising and it’s him! He has got a problem.”

I have seen a lot of insinuation from pundits that Dele’s decline is down to the midfielder believing in his own hype and not putting in the hard work that is required.
In reality, it could just be down to a lack of confidence. The 25-year-old might be working as hard as he ever has behind the scenes but things might simply not be clicking for him.
We have seen in the past with the likes of David Bentley and Ravel Morrison that talented players can sometimes completely fall by the wayside due to a number of factors.
