The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur target Marcus Thuram is expected to leave Borussia Monchengladbach for a cut-price fee this summer.
It was reported last summer that Thuram, who can play on either flank as well as upfront, was seen as a ‘priority target’ by Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici (FootMercato).
The France international ended up staying at Gladbach but has endured a season to forget, plagued by injury troubles and managing just three goals and one assist so far (Transfermarkt).
Ornstein has revealed that, despite his struggles this campaign, Thuram is set to attract interest from a whole host of clubs around Europe this summer.
He reveals that Spurs and Inter both wanted to sign the 24-year-old last summer while Arsenal have also previously considered moving for the attacker.
With just 12 months left to run on Thuram’s contract, the journalist claims that Gladbach will let the player go this summer for a fee of around £10m-£15m.

A forward of Thuram’s versatility, who can play across the front three, is arguably what we need this summer rather than an out-and-out backup to Kane. However, we should be aiming for a higher calibre of player than the Frenchman.
