Dejan Kulusevski has called for Antonio Conte to remain in North London after the Lilywhites secured Champions League football for next season.
It was Conte who signed the Sweden international for Tottenham in January, and the 22-year-old is keen to continue working under the former Inter Milan boss.
After Tottenham’s turnaround under the Italian since he joined in November, it is extremely likely the majority of the Spurs squad would agree with Kulusevski on that front.
With Spurs back in the Champions League after a two-season absence, all eyes will be on whether head coach Conte, who is now expected to meet with club chiefs to clarify his future (Football.London).
But Kulusevski hopes the Italian tactician, who he labelled as a ‘role model’, will commit his future in North London with a place at Europe’s top table confirmed.
He told BBC Sport (live blog – 22/05/22 at 17:59): “Antonio Conte is a winner. He does everything required to win. He’s a role model. I want him to stay and be my manager.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
If Daniel Levy lets Conte slip through his fingers after everything the Italian has achieved in the past six months, I don’t think there would be a way back for the chairman. The obvious and sensible thing to do now is give Conte the tools he wants and needs to win trophies.
