Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is set to fly to Istanbul tonight to finalise his move to Besiktas (Fabrizio Romano).
Alli left Tottenham to move to Goodison Park on a free transfer last January, but he has failed to revive his declining career even after teaming up with Frank Lampard.
The transfer to Everton included a clause that would see Spurs claim £10m once he reached 20 appearances, and add-ons up to £40m depending on other clauses (The Sun).
However, the 26-year-old has just 13 appearances to his name currently with the Toffees (Transfermarkt), and his future is increasingly likely to be in Turkey beyond this summer. A deal is claimed to be in the advanced stages, with Dele boarding a flight this evening.
Fortunately, Sky Sports reported this month that Tottenham may still be in line to benefit from a loan or permanent move to Besiktas. The report implied Spurs would get 25% of any loan or permanent fee.
iNews then added to this by reporting that Everton will have to pay Tottenham a ‘significant proportion of the original fee’ if Dele Alli is sold in this transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion:
It is difficult to grasp how things have panned out for Alli since the latter years of Mauricio Pochettino’s time at N17. The former MK Dons ace was tipped to reach the top at one point in his playing career, but he has fallen off a cliff since then. Moving to Besiktas feels like a resignation rather than an actual attempt to get things back on track.
