Son Heung-min’s representatives have asked fans and others to stop filming his family without consent, according to Football Asian.
Son endured an emotional afternoon on Saturday as the South Korean was left on the bench by Antonio Conte, only to come on as a second-half substitute and open his account for the season by netting a quickfire hat trick.
The forward’s reaction, as well as the way his teammates celebrated with him, showed just how much the goals meant to the 30-year-old.
Football Asian have now revealed that Son’s family were in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday and that the striker’s father was seen cheering while his mother was caught on camera crying after the goals.
This allegedly became a point of discussion on social media, and the Spurs star has now asked fans not to film his family during matches.
Son’s management company released a statement that read (via Football Asian): “Please immediately stop filming the player’s family without the prior consent of the person concerned and disclosing the filmed footage on a channel where an unspecified number of people can see it.
“The player’s family has exposed personal information and portraits to the public regardless of his/her intentions. causing additional discomfort. Furthermore, the damage to the portrait rights of players and their families may further increase due to second and third illegal copies.”
A representative of the player reportedly warned that action would be taken against any further unauthorised filming of the forward’s family members.
The representative is quoted in the report as saying: “It is an act of infringing on the rights of others to take pictures of others without prior consent. In particular, it is clearly illegal to post unauthorized videos online to pursue personal interests, and it is an action that should be strictly prohibited.
“If we continue to discover unauthorized filming and video uploading of players’ families, we will not overlook this and will take all necessary measures.”

It is completely understandable if Son’s parents would want their privacy as they are not public figures unlike the forward.
I suspect it was some of the 30-year-old’s Korean fans who captured the reaction of his parents on tape over the weekend. Videos following Son’s every moment, before and after the game, tend to be quite popular on social media.
