Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Giovani Lo Celso when the transfer window reopens in January.
Villarreal re-signed Lo Celso on loan this summer on the back of the Argentine’s impressive six-month spell at the club during the second half of last season.
The La Liga club do not have the option to make the deal permanent but the 26-year-old’s loan switch reportedly contains a break clause for Spurs to end the loan in January if they receive a bid from someone and the player agrees to the move (Football.London).
Lo Celso has made 12 appearances for the Yellow Submarine so far this season, scoring one goal (Transfermarkt).
Football Insider have now revealed that Tottenham are willing to sell the midfielder ‘on the cheap’ in January.
The report explains that the Lilywhites are keen to get Lo Celso off their payroll for good and will accept an offer of around £18m for the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
As Spurs found out in the summer, this is not an ideal selling market as most clubs in Italy and Spain do not have much money to spend. So, Tottenham might have to end up accepting a fee of around £12m-£15m for Lo Celso if they want to move him on in January.
