CMW.it have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to offer a bumper contract to Adrien Rabiot to convince the Frenchman to sign for the club.
After a difficult couple of seasons, where he seemed to lose his way a bit, Rabiot has got his career back on track over the last six months.
The central midfielder has been in exceptional form for Juventus this season and has taken that form into the World Cup, where he has played a leading role for France in the absence of Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.
However, it is unclear whether the former Paris Saint-Germain star has much of a future in Turin, with his current contract at the Allianz Stadium running out next summer (Transfermarkt).
Tottenham’s interest in Rabiot first came to light last month, when Calciomercato reported that Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal were eyeing a move for the 27-year-old in January.
CMW.it have now backed up the Lilywhites’ interest in the Juve star, stating that Antonio Conte thinks the midfielder has the ‘perfect profie’.
It is explained that Fabio Paratici is also an admirer of Rabiot, having been the man who brought him from Paris to the Old Lady in 2019.
The report alleges that the midfielder seems unlikely to sign a new contract at Juventus as he is demanding a deal worth €7m (£6m) plus bosses. It is asserted that Tottenham are willing to offer Rabiot a contract worth €8m (£6.8m) to convince him to come to North London.
Spurs Web Opinion
I have been quite surprised to see that Spurs are being heavily linked with number sixes like Rabiot and Sofyan Amrabat over the last few weeks. That suggests that perhaps Pape Matar Sarr is not the only central midfielder that could leave Tottenham in January, with Conte also potentially willing to consider loaning out Oliver Skipp.
