Dejan Kulusevski is bullish about Tottenham’s chances this season, insisting that he expects a marked improvement in results when the campaign resumes.
Tottenham started the season in excellent form but the wheels did seem to come off a bit from the start of October, with the Lilywhites coming for plenty of criticism from some pundits (Sky Sports).

However, on the whole, one cannot have too many complaints about the position Spurs find themselves in, as they remain in fourth spot in the Premier League table and have sealed progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Kulusevski admitted that the players have been working on a few different things during the mini-pre-season, pointing out how they pressed Nice high up the pitch in the friendly on Wednesday.
The Swede told Football.London after the 1-1 draw: “Like you saw today, we tried to press high. I think we worked a lot on our pressing and it is important we get better.
“We won the ball a few times today up but I think that the next thing is when we win the ball, we have to choose the right pass so we can score.”
The 22-year-old pointed out that the performances of the Spurs players at the World Cup shed light on the quality that the Lilywhites have at their disposal.
When asked about his expectations for the second half of the campaign, the winger said: “I expect better results than the first six months of the season. I think we can do better and we’ve been working so now it is time to show what we’ve been doing,”
“We have a lot of quality players that still can make more. We have very good players that you saw at the World Cup also and almost every player did very good so I think we just have to stay healthy and play like we can.”
Kulusevski admitted that he is excited and raring to go for what could be a big six months for the Lilywhites.
He added: “I can’t wait. We’re in a good position in the Premier League, we are in the Champions League against Milan so it’s going to be six months but it’s going to be fantastic and I’m looking forward to it.”

The break certainly came at the right time for Tottenham and Conte as we had lost the momentum we had built up at the start of the season. However, as Kulusevski points out, we still find ourselves in a very good position and there is no reason we cannot do something special this season, particularly if we recruit smartly in January.
