Tottenham Hotspur have made a verbal bid for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard, according to Football Insider.
The Belgian international had been an unused substitute in the midweek win at Everton.was missing for Brighton’s 5-1 FA Cup win at Middlesbrough on Saturday with manager Roberto De Zerbi claiming the player had picked up a calf problem (Argus).
The report claims that Tottenham saw their approach rebuffed by the south coast club who have no interest in selling the player during the January transfer window.
Trossard is the Seagulls’ top scorer this season with seven goals in 16 games which includes an impressive hat-trick at Anfield in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool back in October (transfermarkt).
The 28-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and is able to talk to overseas clubs from this month, although Brighton possess the option to extend the deal by a further year.

Trossard was impressive during the first half of the season and his contract situation would make him a relatively sensibly-priced target given Tottenham’s likely limited funds in this window.
An attack-minded player has to be one of the club’s primary targets with Antonio Conte having been unable to call upon any of Lucas Moura, Dejan Kulusevski or Richarlison for the last three matches leaving him with no options from the bench.
