Former Tottenham academy midfielder Armando Shashoua has admitted that the unbelievable facilities at the North London club sometimes do not help young players as they get too comfortable.
Shashoua joined the Spurs academy at just seven years of age and worked his way up through the age group ranks, breaking into the Under-18s back in 2017.
The youngster made 41 appearances for the Under-18s, scoring eight times and providing 12 assists (Transfermarkt) before going on to represent the Under-21s on 18 occasions.
The midfielder did not manage to break into the senior side and eventually left Spurs to join the Spanish club Atletico Baleares three years ago.
The 22-year-old has been working his way up the ladder of Spanish football since, joining Segunda Division side UD Ibiza last summer before moving to Cordoba CF on loan at the end of the January window.
Shashoua has now been speaking about his experiences of playing youth football at Spurs and how it has prepared him for his career.
The midfielder told COPE: “Playing for Tottenham is unbelievable. The best place to train I’ve ever been to. I’ve known Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester… but Hotspur Way is crazy.
“They make everything so easy for you. That helps you and doesn’t help you, because you can get comfortable. It all depends on how you do it.”

Youngsters can often get comfortable at top Premier League clubs like Spurs, where they are pampered and all their needs are taken care of.
That is why it is important for them to go out on loan to lower-league clubs at an early age so that they can get a taste of playing with senior professionals in a ruthless environment.
The likes of Harry Kane certainly benefited from those spells away from Spurs (even though he did not have much success) as it helps build character.
