While discussing Tottenham’s next managerial appointment, The Times have revealed that the North London club are aware of the negativity stemming from their decision to adopt three consecutive pragmatic coaches in Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte.
While reporting on the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino returning to Spurs, The Athletic suggested on Tuesday that Daniel Levy could be tempted to appoint the Argentine in order to curry favour with the fan base.
However, the report questioned whether Pochettino could work with Fabio Paratici and whether a power struggle would ensue between the pair.
The Times have now revealed that another reason that Tottenham could look to re-hire the 51-year-old is to go back towards a progressive manager after having three consecutive head coaches who adopt a safety-first approach.
The publication also talks about the potential culture clash between Paratici and Pochettino, pointing out that there could be a conflict regarding the tactical system, with the former favouring a wing-back system while the latter prefers a back four.

Based on the various managers that Paratici considered for the job prior to Nuno’s appointment, it is clear that the Italian does not see eye-to-eye with Pochettino in terms of footballing philosophy.
So, I suspect that the only way for the Argentine to return would be for Spurs to restructure once again and part ways with their managing director of football.
