Even though Tottenham failed to strengthen their grip on a top-four spot on Saturday, the Lilywhites have a much kinder fixture list to look forward to after the international break compared to some of their rivals for Champions League qualification.
Spurs had a golden opportunity to temporarily leapfrog Manchester United into third place in the table if they had held on to their two-goal lead against the Saints, heading into the final 15 minutes of the game at St Mary’s.
It has been reported that Tottenham are expected to part ways with Antonio Conte this week (Telegraph) and Ryan Mason may be handed the job for the time being (Telegraph).

However, the North Londoners conceded two late goals, thus bringing the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool right back into the race for a top-four finish.
Although Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United have two games in hand over Tottenham, Antonio Conte’s men have a kinder fixture list than the Reds and the Magpies.
The Lilywhites have home games against Brighton and Bournemouth, and away clashes against Everton and Newcastle coming up over the next few weeks.
In comparison, Liverpool have away trips to Manchester City, Chelsea and Leeds on the horizon as well as a home clash against Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Newcastle welcome Man Utd to St James’ Park after the international break before playing three consecutive away matches against West Ham, Brentford and Aston Villa.

Spurs Web Opinion
We pretty much squandered any hope of finishing above Man Utd by letting our two-goal lead slip on Saturday but we do have a much kinder fixture list compared to Newcastle and Liverpool, which gives us an edge in the race for the fourth spot.
Having said that, I believe we do have to get rid of Conte immediately to have any chance of finishing in the top four as the players are certainly not going to play for the Italian following his outburst on Saturday.
