Lucas Moura is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of his contract this summer, and by the sounds of it, he could be looking at big contract offers from the United States and Saudi Arabia.
The Brazilian will call time on his Spurs career after five years with the club when his current deal expires at the end of this season.
The club have decided not to renew his contract and will now lose him for nothing.
Moura has clocked up 218 appearances for Spurs over the years, contributing 38 goals and 27 assists during his time in North London (Transfermarkt).
According to a report from Goal, Moura has been attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, Major League Soccer, and Qatar.
It has also been suggested that Moura may look to return to his native Brazil (UOL).
However, the player’s agent, Junior Pedroso, recently told Jorge Nicola that a move to Brazil was not on the table and that propositions from Europe were being considered.
The latest from Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan appears to suggest otherwise, as the United States and Saudi Arabia have been mooted as the ideal destinations for Moura come the summer.
Apparently, Moura does not have any offers at the moment, with clubs preferring to wait until the end of the season to put forward their intentions.
Nevertheless, Hernan highlights the MLS and Saudi leagues as the prime candidates for the 30-year-old.
It is thought both locations are considered to be great opportunities by Moura himself.
Due to his age, his agent would regard this as the last chance to secure a big contract, which is something American and Saudi teams would not struggle to offer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Lucas Moura doesn’t strike me as the kind of player who would move simply for financial reasons.
I think he will believe he still has a lot to offer and will want to test himself in a reputable league while he still can.
