Former Netherlands international Wim Kieft has urged Arne Slot to take the Tottenham job this summer if they come calling, stating that the North London club would be a perfect fit for the Feyenoord boss.
While Julian Nagelsmann appears to remain Tottenham’s top target (Football Insider), the speculation linking Slot with a move to the Lilywhites has been gathering steam over the past two weeks.

The Dutch coach, who is on course to guide Feyenoord to a historic Eredivisie title, is thought to be part of the Lilywhites’ narrowed-down shortlist to replace Antonio Conte (Daily Star).
The Times reported last Wednesday that Tottenham are looking for a young progressive coach of Slot’s profile but added that both Crystal Palace and West Ham United are also eyeing moves for the 44-year-old.
Kieft has now asked Slot to ‘strike while the iron is hot’ and argued that a club like Spurs would give the Feyenoord boss the platform to succeed while playing attacking football.
The former Ajax star wrote in his column for De Telegraaf: “That also happens to Slot at Feyenoord, where he has put together two teams in two years that are highly successful in Europe.
“If you put together a team twice with such a limited budget as at Feyenoord that reaches the final of the Conference League and a year later with seven new players reach the quarterfinal of the Europa League with such attractive attacking football, then you do excellent work.
“Because Slot stands for a certain football product, he will always be of interest to clubs looking for a trainer. After having done the same trick twice at Feyenoord, he now has to spread his wings.
“Undoubtedly, an exodus of players will follow. Whether he will succeed a third time to build a new team and perform nationally and internationally in the Champions League is uncertain. Let him strike while the iron is hot.
“The question is: which club dares to take on in England, for example? To play such distinctive football as at Feyenoord with Leeds United or Crystal Palace will be very difficult.
“Especially because those clubs do not have the financial scope for Slot to trump the top five in England. There are such good quality players around.
“But a club like Tottenham Hotspur would fit perfectly. A big ambitious club with a big budget available and historically speaking, Spurs have stood for attacking football and there is always room for creative players.
“In London, Slot can express his football ideas and he can reap financially.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I have no doubt that Slot would be poached by a club in England, Spain, Italy or Germany this summer, given the excellent work he has done in Rotterdam.
However, I suspect that Spurs would only view the 44-year-old as a fallback option if moves for their top targets fail, which might allow the likes of Palace or West Ham to swoop for the Dutchman.
