Sky Sports Germany have revealed that RB Leipzig will make one final effort to tie down rumoured Tottenham target, Dani Olmo, to a new contract.
We covered a report from SportBILD (12/04/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) last week, which claimed that Olmo’s future at Leipzig is up in the air as the attacking midfielder is set to enter the final year of his contract this June.
The report added the Spain international will be sold by the Bundesliga side this summer if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal.
It was asserted that the 24-year-old is now ‘considering’ enquiries from Premier League clubs, with Spurs alleged to be one of the teams to have asked about his future plans.
However, Sky Germany have now suggested that Leipzig have not yet given up hope of tying down Olmo to a new contract.
The report adds that the club’s sport managing director Max Eberl wants the attacker to remain at the club and is preparing one final contract offer that would stretch their own ‘monetary limits’.
If Olmo rejects that offer, it is explained that Leipzig would look to sell him for a fee of around €30m (£26.4m).

At the reported price, one would expect plenty of clubs across Europe to show interest in Olmo.
There is no doubt that Tottenham need to sign a creative midfielder in the summer and I would be surprised if the Spaniard was not on the club’s radar.
