Daniel Levy believes that Harry Kane can win silverware without leaving Tottenham Hotspur and admitted that he hopes the striker can have a statute outside the club’s stadium in the future.
Kane will enter the final 12 months of his contract this June and there have been contradictory reports over the last week regarding a potential new deal for the striker.
90 min reported a few days ago that Tottenham have decided to hold back negotiations with the 29-year-old’s entourage until they have a new head coach in place as the striker is not keen on putting pen to paper now, given the current turmoil at the club.
However, Alasdair Gold said on a Q&A on Football.London that Kane would be happy to speak to Sprus whenever they make an approach and also suggested that the North London club’s hierarchy have no intention of selling their talisman this summer.
When asked if the England captain might need to leave to win silverware, Levy told the debating society of Cambridge University: “He can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs.
“But being a legend is also important. The fact that he’s top scorer of Tottenham Hotspur, he’s making history. I hope one day that there is a statue of Harry Kane outside our stadium.”

Based on Levy’s words and various reports coming out over the last week, it seems like the Tottenham chairman is determined to keep Kane this summer, even if it means risking losing him for free in the summer of 2024.
The new managerial appointment will likely have a big impact on the striker’s decision on whether or not to sign a new deal this summer.
