Fabrizio Romano has revealed that despite Chelsea’s advances towards Mauricio Pochettino over recent days, Tottenham have still not made contact with their former manager.
The Telegraph revealed on Friday that Pochettino has now emerged as the favourite to become the new manager at Chelsea after Julian Nagelsmann withdrew himself from the race.
The report explained that Pochettino has already had more than one round of talks with the Blues, who have taken note of the fact that the Argentine overachieved during his time in North London.
The publication added that the 51-year-old’s lack of trophies in England does not count against him as Chelsea believe he could deliver silverware in the right environment.
Romano has now also reported something similar, stating that the West London club are continuing talks with Pochettino, as Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are no longer in the running for the Chelsea hot seat.
However, the journalist stated that the Stamford Bridge hierarchy have not yet made a final decision on who to hire.
Much to Spurs fans’ disappointment, Romano revealed that the Lilywhites are yet to reach out to Pochettino.
The conversations between Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea board will now continue as expected — after opening talks earlier this week. #CFC
Shortlist remains as no decision has been made yet — Nagelsmann & Luis Enrique, out of the race.

Spurs Web Opinion
Among the candidates available (assuming Nagelsmann is out of reach), Pochettino appears to be one of the best suited for the Tottenham job.
He certainly has more of a proven track record in the Premier League than the likes of Luis Enrique and Arne Slot.
In fact, it very much appeared like Paratici was the one who was opposing Pochettino returning, with the Italian seemingly pushing Enrique’s case.
So, now that the 50-year-old has resigned, I would be surprised if Tottenham do not reach out to the Argentine.
