Declan Rice has spoken in glowing terms about Harry Kane’s leadership qualities and remarked that he tries to learn from the way the striker conducts himself.
Kane is arguably the best number nine England has ever produced, with the striker already having clinched the country’s goalscoring record and likely to take an unassailable lead by the time he hangs up his boots.
He will also undoubtedly go down as one of the best strikers in Premier League history and looks on course to clinch Alan Shearer’s record in another three to four years.
Apart from his qualities as a player, the Tottenham man’s leadership abilities have also come to the fore over the past few years for both club and country.
While the 29-year-old is not the most vocal of leaders, he is someone who leads by example, with Gareth Southgate often speaking in glowing terms about the example he sets around the training pitch (Sky Sports).
Rice has now admitted that playing alongside Kane has afforded him the opportunity to imbibe some of the Tottenham man’s leadership qualities.
The West Ham United captain told Stadium Astro: “It’s incredible because you’re surrounded by world-class players, world-class leaders and a lot of captains for their clubs.
“The biggest clubs in England. So you have to take a little bit from them.
“Seeing Harry Kane close up, how he is a leader, Harry Maguire, how he is as a person and how he manages to captain Man United and the expectations.
“It’s one I’m trying to learn from each person.”

For all the abuse that Harry Kane gets from opposition fans, he only ever gets talked about in glowing terms by his peers, which shows the kind of player and character that he is.
The 29-year-old is the best example for young players to follow as he constantly works hard to improve his game and conducts himself flawlessly outside the pitch.
