Lucas Moura has revealed that he has received a few offers ahead of his Spurs exit but insisted that he has not yet made a decision on his next destination.

Moura‘s five-and-a-half-year spell at Tottenham had the perfect ending as the winger scored with his final touch of a ball in a Spurs shirt after coming on as an injury-time substitute against Leeds United, with the Lilywhites emerging with a 4-1 win at Elland Road in the final game of the season.

The Brazilian was in tears after the game as he celebrated with the travelling Spurs supporters who were chanting his name from the away end.

The 30-year-old now has to choose his next adventure and has remarked that he will make that decision after enjoying his summer holidays. His contract with Tottenham is officially over on June 30th (TransferMarkt).

Moura has transfer options ahead of Spurs exit

The winger told AS: “My thought now is to take advantage of the holidays, enjoy my country, my family and friends, rest, take advantage of this time and then prepare for the next season. There is nothing defined.

“I have some offers from various clubs and I am going to wait, calmly analyze what appears and then make the decision with my family. I don’t have a preference for a place.”

Moura admitted that it is not only his footballing career that he now has to consider but also what destination would be ideal for his family.

He continued: “When you have children, priorities change and the priority is to find a good place to live, one that is good for my children.

“A country that is safe. People think about those things. I must analyze the proposals and make the best decision with my family. And knowing that it will be a special place that makes me happy.”

The departing Tottenham man ruled out a move to Brazil this summer but admitted that a return to Sao Paulo would be his preference when he eventually decides to head back to his home country.

Moura added: “Going back to Brazil is always something that goes through my head. It is my country, a place that I love, that I have enormous affection for.

“I was already here in Sao Paulo. For now, it is not in my head to return to Brazil now. I am still 30 years old, I have many things to conquer outside the country.

“As I said, we are going to see the proposals that appear, I am not closing any doors. Now is the time to rest and then analyze.

“I have already said it several times, Sao Paulo is a club that I love, the club that is in my heart. I always follow and support him.

“I feel a lot of gratitude because it is the team that gave me the opportunity to become a professional.

“When I decide to return to Brazil, it will be the first club that will come to my mind. You have to see the moment of the club, if they feel interested. Everyone knows how fond I am of Sao Paulo.”

At 30 years of age, Moura could easily play at the top level for another two or three years as long as he can stay injury free.

The winger will probably receive several offers from the top five leagues in Europe this summer, potentially even those competing in the Champions League over the course of the next campaign.

Spurs fans will fondly remember Moura’s Champions League heroics against Ajax and admitted that he did not expect to be on the bench for the final against Liverpool with Pochettino instead opting for Harry Kane, who had been struggling with injury.
