CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has said that there is a ‘realistic possibility’ that Tottenham Hotspur push ahead with a move for Bristol City starlet Alex Scott this summer.
Alex Scott is widely considered to be the best-emerging talent in the EFL, with the midfielder going from strength to strength since first breaking into Bristol’s starling eleven almost two years ago.
The 19-year-old, who has been nicknamed the ‘Guernsey Grealish‘, thanks to his ability to carry the ball, is widely expected to make the step up to the top flight this summer, with Spurs said to be one of the clubs keeping an eye on him (GiveMeSport).
In fact, The Daily Mail reported on May 15 that Bristol have accepted that the England Under-20 international will leave the club this summer and they hope to get a fee of around £25m-£30m for him.
Eight Premier League clubs have asked about Scott
Jacobs has now said on the Last Word On Spurs Podcast that while the Lilywhites have enquired about Scott’s availability, seven other Premier League sides have also expressed an interest in the teenager.
The journalist added that there is a ‘realistic possibility’ that Ange Postecoglou’s men make a move for the midfielder this summer and stated that Nigel Pearson’s men have quoted a price of £30m for the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Scott is a boyhood Tottenham fan (Guardian) potentially gives the Lilywhites a big advantage over other suitors.
Postecoglou’s history of working with and developing young talent could also help convince the 19-year-old and his entourage that a move to North London would be the right next step for the youngster.
