Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed Tottenham Hotspur may need to pay Harry Kane £600,000 a week to keep hold of their star man this summer.
Speculation is mounting surrounding Harry Kane‘s future at Tottenham. The 29-year-old has just entered the final year of his current contract, and many have suggested it is time for him to move on.
After a miserable 2022/23 campaign which saw Spurs finish outside the European qualifying places in the Premier League, and fail to compete in the various cup competitions they were involved in, Kane may be keen to finally win a trophy elsewhere.
Bayern Munich appear to be the club most likely to offer the England captain a way out of North London.
The German side have already had an opening offer rejected for Kane, but are thought to be readying an improved bid (Ben Jacobs).
Spurs need to triple Kane’s wages
Whether Spurs can keep hold of Kane this summer remains to be seen, but getting the player to commit his long-term future to the club could prove to be very expensive according to Ferdinand.
He told FIVE: “If he signs a new deal at Spurs, it will have to be an outrageous amount of money for that to happen.
“Because he’ll be getting offered crazy money at Bayern Munich. Man United could offer him a crazy package as well. He’s on a great deal already as it is as well.
“I don’t see much change out of probably £500,000-600,000-a-week if he signs at Spurs.
“That’s the type of money to keep him because the only thing they can give him is money, because they can’t offer him titles or trophies.”

If that’s what it takes to stop Kane leaving, we should pay it.
He’s worth every penny, and then some.
It may be crazy money, but he’s a crazy talent who we simply cannot replace.
