Davinson Sanchez’s agent, Fernando Villarreal has confirmed that Galatasaray are interested in signing the Tottenham Hotspur defender during the current transfer window.
Sanchez has been linked with a whole host of clubs over recent weeks, including the likes of Villarreal (Relevo), Spartak Moscow (Sport Express), and more recently, PSV Eindhoven (Voetbal International).
However, the speculation linking him with a move to Galatasaray has been the heaviest, with multiple Turkish publications talking up the chance of the Spurs stopper moving to the Istanbul club.
The latest such update came from Hurriyet, who claimed last week that the Super Lig champions have identified Sanchez as the ideal option to replace Victor Nelsson, who, interestingly, was said to be on Tottenham’s radar.

The outlet added that Spurs value the Colombian at €12m (£10.2m), which is more than what the Turkish club are willing to pay, with Galatasaray said to be trying to get a deal done for around €8m (£6.8m).
Villarreal has now confirmed that Okan Buruk’s side have indeed made contact over a potential deal for Sanchez.
The defender’s representative told Sport Digitale reporter Yagiz Sabuncuoglu: “Galatasaray is a good possibility. The news (regarding their interest) is true.”

With Sanchez only being 27 years, and arguably having his peak years ahead of him, I suspect he will want to move to one of the top leagues in Europe. Among the clubs mentioned so far this summer, Villarreal are clearly a class above the rest but it remains to be seen if the La Liga club could afford a move for the Tottenham man.
