Football Insider have claimed that Juventus’ Gleison Bremer ranks highly on Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist of central defenders.
It has been well documented over the past month that Spurs wish to make wholesale changes at centre-back (Football.London).
Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Taposba and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven have been the most heavily linked with a move to N17 over the last couple of weeks (Fabrizio Romano).
Over the course of the summer, multiple Italian outlets have also suggested that Spurs have an eye on Bremer, who Juventus are said to be open to cashing in on to offset their losses (CalcioMercato).
The print edition of Corriere dello Sport (28/6 via Sport Witness) claimed two weeks ago that Tottenham are facing competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United for the Brazilian, with all three clubs allegedly willing to pay around €50m (£43.1m) for the player.
Bremer ranks highly on Tottenham’s wishlist
Football Insider have now become the latest publication to report on Spurs’ interest in Bremer, stating that he is one of the players the North London club are looking at as they aim to sign two centre-backs this summer.
The publication asserts that Tottenham tried to sign the 26-year-old prior to his switch to the Allianz Stadium last summer and could now reignite their interest in the former Torino man, who ‘ticks a lot of boxes’ for Postecoglou.
Spurs Web Opinion
Bremer would certainly tick a few boxes for Spurs as he would be able to play in a high line and can operate on either side of central defence.
However, I do not think Juventus would let him leave for less than £55m- £60m, given how well he has done during his first season at the club.
