Ange Postecoglou insisted that he is not bothered by the recent comments that Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has made about Harry Kane.
Bayern are reportedly continuing their efforts to sign Kane despite seeing their two offers rejected so far, with Florian Plettenberg even revealing a couple of days ago that some insiders at the Bundesliga club expect the transfer to be completed within the next two to three weeks.
Hoeness claimed on Sunday that the 29-year-old will make the move to the Allianz Arena if he ‘keeps his word’ and added that Tottenham will have to eventually ‘buckle’ and soften their stance (Sport 1 via Sky Sports).
He told Sport1: “Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands – and if he keeps to his word, then we’ll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle.
“Kane wants to play internationally and luckily for us Tottenham will not be active internationally next year.”
German-based journalist Kerry Hau claimed yesterday that Hoeness’ statement was not well received by the Bayern hierarchy, with many feeling that it was ‘unfortunate and unnecessary’.

What Ange Postecoglou said about Uli Hoeness’ comments on Harry Kane
However, Postecoglou has shrugged off suggestions that the comments affects him and the players at Tottenham.
When asked if he is bothered by the noise coming out of Bayern about Kane, the Spurs head coach told Football.London: “Me, personally, no. No one has spoken to me from Munich!”
When pressed on if Hoeness speaking publicly about Bayern’s Kane pursuit is affecting the environment the Australian is trying to create, he responded: “There hasn’t been a discussion. There are a lot of people that know Harry better than me but he’s not going to get fazed by anything. He’s here and while he’s here, he’s totally committed to what we’re doing.
“That’s that way I’ve seen things. In terms of me, it has zero impact on me. If other clubs want to talk about our contracted players, that’s more of an issue for them than us.”
Postecoglou also insisted that the statements from Bavaria have not affected his plans for the upcoming season in any way.
He continued: “To be fair since the last press conference I haven’t had a discussion about it. Until the next one, I probably won’t mention it again, which is fair enough. It’s where people outside the group are more focused on.
“I said at the first press conference that I have a certain amount of time to get this team right for the start of the season and I’m not going to wait until things become certain about anything to start that process. We needed to start it straight away and that’s what we’ve done. That’s what we’ll keep doing.
“It doesn’t mean that every time I come to a press conference I won’t have to answer questions about it but in between, certainly no focus on it.”

Daniel Levy and the Spurs hierarchy will certainly not appreciate the statements that are being made by Bayern and those affiliated with the Bundesliga outfit.
The German club’s tactics could well have convinced the Tottenham chairman to harden his stance and make the transfer even more difficult for the domestic champions.
