Calcio Napoli 24 have claimed that Giovani Lo Celso is in favour of making a switch to Napoli this summer.
Napoli’s interest in Lo Celso came to light a few days ago when Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that the Italian side had reached out to Tottenham over a deal for the Argentine.
The journalist added that last season’s Scudetto winners see the Argentine as an ideal fit for manager Rudi Garcia as he can play as one of the three midfielders in a 4-3-3 while also being able to operate behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1.
Giovani Lo Celso is a long-term target for Napoli
Calcio Napoli 24 have now also backed up Napoli’s interest in Lo Celso, claiming that the club have identified the Tottenham man as their top choice to replace Piotr Zielinski if the Poland international leaves this summer.
The publication asserts that the former Real Betis and PSG man has been on the Partenopei’s radar for ‘years’, and it is claimed that the player would ‘gladly accept’ a switch to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
However, the report also explains that Napoli are not the only club eyeing a move for Lo Celso, with the competition for the 27-year-old said to be heating up.

In many ways, Lo Celso is actually a perfect fit for the number eight role in Postecoglou’s system. The Argentine showed against West Ham that he fits the Australian’s set-up like a glove.
However, the big question is whether the 27-year-old wants to stay at the club. If he is committed, I can see Postecoglou deciding to hang on to the midfielder.
