Don Hutchison argues that Harry Kane has no reason to sign for Bayern Munich this summer when he would have a lot more destinations to choose from when his contract runs out in a year.
Reports in the British press indicate that Kane is open to all three possibilities – joining Bayern this summer, leaving Spurs on a free transfer next summer, and even signing a new contract with his boyhood club if they show signs of progress under Ange Postecoglou (Football.London).
However, German outlets appear convinced that the 29-year-old is on his way to Bavaria, with SportBild reporting on Saturday that the striker’s wife, Kate, has already been to the country to look for a new home outside Munich.
Harry Kane is expected to stay at Tottenham
Hutchison has said that he cannot see the Tottenham man making a switch to the Allianz Arena, pointing out that he will bring a lot of other clubs into play by running down his contract at the North London club.
The pundit told ESPN FC: “I think he stays at Tottenham one more year, then goes on a free.
“Then he brings them all into play. Why would you want to leave now? Go and win everything in a year. This time in one season’s time. You bring Real Madrid, you bring Liverpool and Man City (in the race to sign Kane)
“Tottenham or his (Kane’s camp) are playing the game of let’s keep Bayern on the loop. If we have to sell him, then make sure there is another team in the race – I just don’t think it makes any sense as a player to move at this present time.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Spurs would not want to run the risk of losing Kane on a free, which is why I expect the club to eventually soften their stance and allow the striker to join Bayern Munich.
It would be ideal if the striker’s future is sorted out, one way or the other, over the next week or two so that there is sufficient time to bring in a suitable replacement if necessary.
