According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are not prepared to give up on their pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso and have made the Tottenham star their ‘big goal’ for the transfer window.
The report states that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has reached out to Tottenham recently to reiterate his desire to sign Lo Celso.
It is alleged that the Serie A club have an ‘unshakable faith’ in the Argentine’s talent and have identified him as the player who can bolster their midfield ranks.
The outlet adds that there is a belief at the Italian club that a potential loan deal can be agreed with a purchase option at ‘acceptable levels’.
Napoli are still trying hard to sign Lo Celso
The same publication (Corriere via Sport Witness) also carried another report on Sunday, claiming that Napoli face a difficult negotiation with Tottenham for Lo Celso, describing the situation as a ‘tug of war’.
However, it is explained that the reigning league champions still retain a strong desire to sign the 27-year-old and are ready to take him on the ‘next plane from London’ if they could.

Postecoglou has been pretty clear that he sees Gio as part of his plans and that the midfielder has enjoyed working under him.
That likely rules out any chance of Tottenham considering selling the Argentine this summer unless they receive an offer that is too good to turn down.
