The Times have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are resigned to losing Harry Kane after Bayern Munich indicated that they are now prepared to increase their offer for the striker.
It was reported by The Athletic’s David Ornstein on Tuesday that despite Tottenham rejecting Bayern’s £86m offer for Kane, the two clubs are continuing talks over the England captain.
However, the journalist explained that there was still some distance between Bayern and Spurs’ respective valuations of the 30-year-old.
A couple of hours later, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed that the Bavarian side wish to submit yet another offer of around €110m (£94.5m) for Kane within a day or two.
Spurs now expect Harry Kane to leave
The Times have now also backed up Plettenberg’s claim, stating that Bayern have indicated to Tottenham that they are now prepared to offer £94.5m for the centre-forward.
The publication explains that Spurs are holding out for £100m and want the majority of the fee upfront but the North London club are now thought to be ‘increasingly resigned’ to losing Kane.
The report adds that the German club are now working to conclude the deal before the end of the week.
Spurs Web Opinion
A lot of Spurs fans appear convinced that Kane is staying, which I think is quite premature. Bayern have evidently put all their eggs into the Kane basket and I fully expect them to make one more big effort to sign the Tottenham man.
We already know that the 30-year-old wants to move to the German club if a deal can be concluded this week while Levy is evidently open to selling for the right offer. So, there is still a decent chance that the deal would go through over the next couple of days.
