Ange Postecoglou has suggested that Tottenham will not splash out on one singular replacement for Harry Kane this summer, as the striker nears a move to Bayern Munich.
Fabrizio Romano gave the transfer his ‘here we go’ seal of approval earlier this morning, adding that Kane will fly to Germany today and sign a four-year deal with Bayern.
Postecoglou does not believe there is a like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane out there, such is the unique and lofty talent of the England captain.
Therefore, the Spurs boss admitted he has not given Daniel Levy a list of possible strikers to go and get in order to fill Kane’s boots in North London.
Instead, Postecoglou has been developing his strategy around the assumption that Kane would be leaving this summer from the very beginning, meaning he is at least prepared for the exit.

Postecoglou cannot replace Harry Kane directly
We previously reported this afternoon that Postecoglou said Tottenham’s business in the transfer window so far has reflected the idea that Kane would be leaving.
He said (Football London): “I don’t think there’s a like-for-like replacement for Harry.
“I don’t think it works that way [giving Daniel Levy a list of strikers to get]. It’s not like the family shopping list to go and get milk and bread for the kids. My whole strategy has been that Harry was unlikely to be around so it wasn’t like we had a pow-wow this morning.”
He also said: “We’ve been planning for this for a while to be fair. It doesn’t take too much investigative work to know that this was going to happen. Our business up to now reflects that.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
I would not be surprised if a deal for Gift Orban suddenly ramps up in the coming days, unless Spurs see Alejo Veliz as Richarlison’s understudy for the season. Orban looks like the perfect player to come in and show some hunger and high-pressing, not to mention his high ceiling.
