Harry Kane’s departure from Tottenham Hotspur last week has left the North Londoners with a 30-plus goal void to fill this season.
Kane‘s decision to swap N17 for Bayern Munich on the eve of the Premier League season saw Ange Postecogou entrust Richarlison to step out of the shadows at Brentford on Sunday.
Belgian news outlet Voetbal Nieuws claimed yesterday that Gent are bracing themselves for the exit of rumoured Spurs target Gift Orban, with their manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck realising the striker’s future will end up in an ‘inevitable departure’.
Gent bracing themselves for Gift Orban’s departure
It is said the reason why Orban was left on the substitutes bench for the recent matches against MSK Zilina and Mechelen was due to Vanhaezebrouck wanting to give other forward players some game time.
Gent are looking to pocket a fee of at least €30m (£25.7m) for the sale of the Nigerian international, who has scored 25 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions since making the move from Norweigan side Stabæk in January (transfermarkt).
Tottenham are yet to make an official approach for the 21-year-old, however, they are ‘increasingly pressing’ ahead with their interest in Orban.

Richarlison‘s performance at Brentford showed that will people need to give the Brazilian time to lead the line and his team-mates must play to his strengths, there is a clear need for a talent such as Gift Orban to come in and provide competition, especially for a fee of under £30million.
Orban has the potential to be one of the top strikers in Europe in the next few years, Spurs need to get ahead of the curve on this one.
