Journalist Dean Jones has said that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to make three more signings before the transfer window shuts on September 2.
Ange Postecoglou himself admitted a couple of weeks ago that Spurs are looking to bring another centre-back through the door following the arrival of Micky van de Ven (Football.London), with some reports over recent days indicating that Torino’s Perr Shuurs has emerged as a top target (Times).
It has also been widely reported over the past few weeks that Tottenham are expected to enter the market for another midfielder, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg expected to complete a move to Atletico Madrid (Daily Mail).
There is also the small matter of replacing Harry Kane, with reports over the last couple of days indicating that the North London club are expected to launch a concrete offer for Gent’s Gift Orban soon (CaughtOffside).
Gift Orban to Spurs should progress this week
Jones believes that Tottenham’s plans have not changed much after Kane’s departure, claiming that Orban is expected to be one of three players arriving through the door at Hotspur Way.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I expect them to make three signings. I don’t think that has changed in the past week. A move for Orban is still alive and that is expected to progress by the middle of this week. That is what I was told over the weekend.
“Obviously, Richarlison is going to get more chances this season and, in front of goal, Postecoglou is hopeful that he can start to deliver. That will be interesting.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Apart from a striker, midfielder and centre-back (potentially Orban, Gallagher and Shuurs), I also expect Spurs to make one attacking signing of the profile of Eberechi Eze or Brennan Johnson to cover for both the wide areas as well as the attacking midfield role.
