Estadio Deportivo have suggested that Real Betis might be tempted to reignite their interest in Giovani Lo Celso during the January transfer window.
The report states that if the midfielder does not get much game time in the next two months, several Spanish sides could become attentive to his situation.
It is explained that Betis seriously looked at the Argentine as an option in the summer and were willing to sign him as long as he adjusted his salary to fit their wage bill.
In fact, it is alleged that the La Liga side even spoke to the 27-year-old’s father about a potential return to Benito Villamarin Stadium. The report adds that apart from Betis, Barcelona and Villarreal also had their eye on Lo Celso.
Real Betis might look at Lo Celso if he is up for sale
The publication states that as things stand, there is nothing concrete to suggest that Manuel Pellegrini’s side are going to make a move for the Tottenham man, particularly given that Isco has impressed since his switch in the summer.
However, the outlet asserts that if a ‘market opportunity’ to sign Lo Celso opens up, Betis might look at it closely.
Spurs Web Opinion
It is too early to be considering the possibility of Lo Celso leaving in January. The midfielder had been out injured for the last two months and he might have a key squad role to play over the next couple of months.
