Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son took to Instagram after the 4-1 defeat against Chelsea on Monday night to share a promise with fans that he and the team will learn from their mistakes and ‘bounce back’ from the result.
Spurs went into the Chelsea game looking to maintain their unbeaten run and return to the top of the Premier League. And, Ange Postecoglou‘s men got off to a flyer when a deflected Dejan Kulusevski effort hit the back of the net within six minutes.
It looked as though the Lilywhites had doubled their lead shortly after, when Brennan Johnson played in Heung-min Son, who applied a cool finish. Unfortunately, the Spurs skipper was fractionally offside, and the night went downhill from there.
Both Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off, five goals were disallowed throughout the night, and eventually, Chelsea were able to break down nine-man Spurs and end the game victorious.
Son promises Spurs will bounce back
Nevertheless, Tottenham fans came away from the game incredibly proud of the valiant effort of those who remained on the pitch. And now, Son has addressed those fans in his latest Instagram post.
He said: “Your support last night was incredible. We felt so much of your energy and atmosphere in the stadium. We made mistakes as a team, put ourselves in a tricky position. But hey, we will learn from these mistakes, we will bounce back, and we will be stronger together.
“I wake up this morning proud of the boys, proud of you the supporters, and excited to get straight back to work. COYS.”

Spurs Web Opinion
I would say it was a night to forget, but I think the Tottenham players needed that kind of experience to build resilience and to prove to themselves and the fans that this is the way we play now, no matter what. It’s a gut-wrenching defeat, but we move on, and the boys now have to put it right in the next game.
