La Stampa have claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s agent has already struck an agreement with both Juventus and Atletico Madrid ahead of the January window.
It has been widely reported over the past few days that Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and his assistant Giovanni Manna were at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday to run the rule over Hojbjerg (The Telegraph).
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s agent has been busy
La Stampa have now claimed that apart from watching the midfielder in action, the pair have also met the player as well as his representatives to discuss a move to the Allianz Stadium.
The outlet explains that while the 28-year-old’s entourage have struck an agreement with Atletico and the Bianconeri, the stumbling block for the Serie A giants would be the €30m (£26m) fee that Spurs are demanding.
The publication adds that Juve are negotiating with Tottenham in an effort to get the North London club to lower their valuation, while also keeping tabs on other alternatives.
Spurs Web Opinion
I feel that Atletico are more likely to pay £25m or so than Tottenham would demand for Hojbjerg. Given Juve’s financial position, they would only be able to sign the midfielder on loan unless they manage to raise funds by offloading some players in January.
