The Sun have claimed that Juventus are confident of winning the race for rumoured Tottenham target Kalvin Phillips in January.
Over the last few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation linking Phillips with a move to Spurs, with several outlets suggesting since the start of October that the Lilywhites are ‘really keen’ on winning the race for the midfielder (Football Transfers).
It has also emerged recently that the England international is on the radars of Bayern Munich (90 min), Newcastle United (TEAMtalk) and Juventus (Gazzetta via Sport Witness).
Juventus confident of beating Spurs to Phillips
If The Sun’s latest update is to be believed, Juve now expect to win the race for the City star when the transfer window reopens in January.
The report states that Phillips has made his mind up to leave the Etihad Stadium in search of regular game time ahead of Euro 2024, with the Premier League champions willing to sanction a loan move.
The outlet also adds that City offered the former Leeds man to Real Madrid by the La Liga giants were not keen on the deal.
Spurs Web Opinion
If Juventus are confident of signing Phillips, then that potentially means that they are not likely to push ahead with an offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. So, the Dane might be waiting for Atletico Madrid to reignite their interest following their failed summer move.
