Il Romanista have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for AS Roma star Bryan Cristante in January.
The report states that Spurs are ‘thinking big’ ahead of the January transfer window and want to make some significant moves to give Ange Postecoglou a chance to build on the club’s impressive start to the campaign.
The Lilywhites have allegedly set their sights on Cristante, who is seen as a ‘perfect fit’ for the Australian’s 4-2-3-1 system.
Tottenham are keen on Bryan Cristante from Roma
The outlet adds that the experienced midfielder is seen as the ‘fulcrum’ of Roma’s side and is seen as ‘irreplaceable’ by the Serie A side, with Jose Mourinho said to be ‘desperate’ to keep hold of the player.
While the Giallorossi do not want to lose Cristante mid-season, it is said that their owners would not be able to resist any offer of more than €30m (£26m) for the Italy international.
The report adds that the player himself would be tempted to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, given the salary increase he would get at North London.

Cristante would fit the bill as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as he would be a decent backup option and would not be as expensive as some of the other midfielders Tottenham have been linked with.
