Il Bianconero have named Tottenham Hotspur as the leading contender to win the race for Juventus starlet Samuel Iling-Junior.
Iling-Junior, who came through Chelsea’s academy, has made 18 senior appearances for Juve since making his move to the Serie A giants three years ago.
The Independent reported a couple of days ago that Spurs were eyeing a move for the versatile attacker, who can operate on either flank or through the middle, with the outlet claiming that Ange Postecoglou believes that the 20-year-old will add more tactical versatility to his side.
It was explained that the Lilywhites have a good relationship with the Juve hierarchy and that they could use that to their favour while negotiating a deal for the youngster.
Spurs now favourites to sign Samuel Iling-Junior
Il Bianconero have now said that Iling-Junior is keen on leaving the Allaiz Stadium in January in search of more regular game time.
A move to the Premier League is said to be on the cards for the England Under-21 international, with Tottenham ‘first and foremost’ a possibility for the attacker.
Finally, the publication adds that the Old Lady are expected to demand a fee of around €15m (£13m), which would not be an issue for the likes of Spurs.
Spurs Web Opinion
Iling-Junior would certainly tick several boxes for Spurs and I believe he is the kind of versatile forward that Postecoglou is likely to prioritise in January rather than an out-and-out striker such as Santiago Gimenez.
