The report reveals that starting in January, Saudi clubs will be permitted to have 10 foreign players in their matchday squad rather than the six that they are currently allowed.
Tottenham may find it harder to sign Jota
It is explained that this could impact the future of Jota, who Tottenham are tracking ahead of January. The former Celtic man has not had any game time at Al-Ittihad this season due to the club being over the limit of the number of foreign players allowed.
However, the rule change will mean that he could now feature for the club, with TEAMtalk adding that the winger is thus likely to remain at the club. The outlet adds that Tottenham might have to put off their pursuit of the Portuguese star for the time being.
Spurs Web Opinion
The change in rules would mean that Saudi clubs will be targeting an increased number of Premier League players from January, which would also have an impact on Tottenham, given that the likes of Richarlison and Son are thought to be of interest to clubs from the Middle Eastern country.
