Mundo Deportivo have suggested that Barcelona would seriously consider an offer from Tottenham for Raphinha in January, given their current financial predicament.
Tottenham’s interest in Raphinha came to light last week when Football Transfers claimed that the North London club were ready to offer the attacker a route back to the Premier League, 18 months on from his move from Leeds United.
It was alleged that given the winger’s struggles at Camp Nou, Barca were willing to sell him for €70m (£61.3m).
A couple of days ago, Sport also backed up Tottenham’s interest in Raphinha, and claimed that the Lilywhites would be willing to sweeten the deal by including a couple of their players as a part of the operation.
The report added that Cristian Romero’s name ‘stands above the rest’ as Barca have been interested in the centre-back since his time at Atalanta.
Barca need to raise money amid Raphinha rumours
Mundo Deportivo have now become the latest publication to talk up the chances of Tottenham swooping for Raphinha.
They say that Ange Postecoglou’s men could land the Brazilian in January as long as they put a satisfactory offer on the table.
It is explained that the Catalan club are in a difficult financial position and need funds in order to be able to register Vitor Roque in January.
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that Tottenham are in need of a wide player in January, given the injuries to Solomon and Perisic.
Raphinha would fit the bill and would be able to offer Kulusevski some competition for his place in the side. I expect Spurs to test the waters with an offer for the 26-year-old in January.
