Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have turned down an approach from Swansea City for their senior assistant coach Chris Davies.
Davies joined Ange Postecoglou‘s coaching staff just this summer, having worked as Brendan Rodger’s assistant at Leicester City until April.
Alasdair Gold disclosed on his YouTube channel a little over a month ago that the newcomer has made an excellent impression on the Spurs squad, who are ‘wowed’ by his training sessions at Hotspur Way as part of the new-look backroom team under the Australian.
Spurs keen to keep Chris Davies
However, less than six months after Davies joined Spurs, it has now emerged that Swansea City are now trying to lure him to back to Wales.
The Swans have parted ways with boss Michael Duff recently, and Wales Online revealed on Wednesday that they are on the lookout for a ‘young, up-and-coming and progressive manager’, with the Tottenham man thought to fit the bill.
Davies has previously worked as an analyst at Swansea under Rodgers, before following the Northern Irishman to Celtic Park and later, the King Power Stadium.
The 38-year-old has also represented Wales at youth level during his playing days before his career was ended at just 19 years of age due to an arthritic foot condition.
However, according to Law’s latest update, Spurs have turned down the Swans’ approach to speak with Davies over their managerial vacancy.

Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that the senior assistant coach post at Tottenham is the biggest that Chris Davies has held in his career so far.
Even if he is enjoying the role in N17, he would likely be tempted to try his hand at management, especially at club like Swansea, with whom he shares a connection.
However, the 38-year-old will also be wary of jumping into the top job too soon and would perhaps want to wait for a club that is better set-up for success than the Welsh side who have had a turbulent time since their takeover.
