90 min have claimed that Tottenham and Moncao could be set to commence a fresh battle for Tosin Adarabioyo after both clubs failed to sign the Fulham centre-back last summer.
Over the last few weeks, several outlets have reported that Adarabioyo remains one of the centre-backs on Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of January (The Athletic).
However, The Sun’s Tom Barclay claimed a few days ago that the 26-year-old has decided to leave Fulham on a free transfer when his contract runs out next summer.
Potential January battle on the cards for Spurs
90 min have now said that while Adarabioyo wants to leave at the end of the season, there remains a possibility of Fulham deciding to sell him in January.
The outlet explains that while the Cottagers are trying to persuade the defender to sign a new deal, the player is no closer to doing so, which is why the West London club could put him up on the shop window.
The report adds that both Spurs and Monaco held talks with Fulham last summer for Adarabioyo and could do so once again over the coming weeks.
However, the publication does point out that if the centre-back decides to leave next summer, the Ligue 1 club would have an advantage as the player can sign a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs from next month.
Finally, 90 min add that apart from Tottenham and Monaco, West Ham United, Atalanta, Lyon and Roma are also admirers of Adarabioyo.
Spurs Web Opinion
Adarabioyo was quite clearly hesitant to join Spurs last summer, potentially because he was unsure of getting game time. I do not see why the centre-back would have changed his mind on the matter over the last six months.
So, I fully expect the North London club to explore other options rather than wasting much of their time on trying to convince the Fulham man.
