Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham will recall Dane Scarlett from his loan spell at Ipswich Town and that the striker will remain at Hotspur Way until the end of the season.
It is not hard to see why Spurs want to prematurely end Scarlett’s loan spell at Portman Road Stadium, with the youngster not having started a single game for the Championship side so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna himself revealed to BBC Radio Suffolk (via East Anglian Daily Times) earlier this week that his side are in talks with the Lilywhites over the 19-year-old, admitting that the striker will likely return to his parent club.
The 19-year-old is highly thought of at Hotspur Way, with Ange Posteocoglou even admitting back in August to have been impressed by the teenager in training (Football.London).
Scarlett will stay at Spurs until summer
Gold has now confirmed that Scarlett is indeed set to return to Spurs next month, stating that the striker will provide more cover for Son Heung-min, given the Tottenham captain’s absence due to the Asian Cup.
The journalist also explained that since the England Under-21 international had already featured for Spurs in the Carabao Cup back in August, he cannot represent a third club this season, which means that another loan move is not on the cards for the youngster.

The fact that Scarlett is now set to be at Tottenham for the second half of the season increases the likelihood that the club will loan out Alejo Veliz in January so that the Argentine can get some competitive football under his belt.
